Default Electrical problems after battery change

Hello,

I have a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser. I had the battery go dead the other day and when replaced started having a few problems. The radio no longer works, but the clock stays on all the time showing 6:08 (even when car is turned off), The treble, bass, etc knobs on the radio are also lit. The Chrysler EVS II dealer installed alarm system will not operate except allowing you to hit unlock with the interior light coming on (The car is a manual door lock car). I am out traveling and really not near a Chrysler dealer. Any suggestions. Chrysler customer service told me to basically "play in traffic."[X(]

first ,who installed the battery?was it install wrong at first pos and neg post reversed?terminals look like they were burnt? if your not sure.try this.remove air cleaner box to get to battery.now disconnect battery.wait 5 mins, turn key on and with key still in on position reconnect battery..my thinking on this is that the module locked up and we need to reset it. moe

A local battery shop did work via AAA service call. May have polarity backward but I would think I would be having more problems. Will try to reset regardless.
