Default oil in air filter box

so i just got a used 06 pt cruiser conver. turbo. and i just finished washing it down and checking fluids under the hood. i open the air filter box and pull out the filter. i see oil on the bottom of the box and on the bottom side of the filter. it wasn't a lot of oil but i found it odd since i couldn't find a source from where it came. do ya'll know anything about this or have any ideas? it would be much appreciated.

thanks
dave

Default RE: oil in air filter box

I have an 03 Turbo with the same thing...the only thing i can think of is that the crankcase case builds up so much pressure that it forces oil from the top of the cylinder head back through the pcv system and into the airbox. i'm going to be doing a full service this weekend and i'm going to start chasing little issues like this one...i'll post some info when i figure it out.
