Default PCM busses?

I've been told that the '06 PT GT's PCM is a CAN-bus type and the '05 car's PCM is not - and therefore the Mopar '06 Stage 1 PCM (for ATX & ABS) is incompatible with an '05 ATX car (equipped with ABS). Is this true? Thanks for your assistance.

Default PCM busses?

Chrysler Tech:
Don't understand all that you said (but I need to). Please reply again, with more punctuation. I don't have a Stage 1 PCM at this time (just the OEM GT unit) but I intend to buy one - soon as I can ascertain the right part number and who currently offers the best deal. A persistent rumor in the PT community says that the '06 (230hp) engine was actually introduced in mid-year '05 GT cars, but was only formally announced by DC for the '06 model year. Lending weight to this rumor is my ABS-equipped '05 GT car (while Chrysler/Mopar only offers Stage 1 PCMs for ABS-equipped cars beginning with the '06 model). Or is that true only because the '05 car's PCM has a PCI-type computer bus, while the '06 PTs first introduced CAN bus PCMs (and coincident with that a new, additional control for ABS brakes which the '05 cars simply didn't have)? Thanks for your kind assistance.
