Unhappy 07 Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement

I have an 07 Sebring needing a Front Bearing/Hub replacement.

Has any one here done this replacement?

How involved is the replacement? I've changed a few on 4x4 vehicles, and I imagine the process isn't much different for a front wheel drive.

Anything special about these to watch for when changing?

If you've done a 4X4 these will be fall-over stupid easy to you. I usually take the axle nut off first and push the axle in a little so there is more room to get to the bolts that hold the hub on.

fall over stupid easy pretty much explains it.

I don't know why but I expected there to be more to it.

In the middle of doing my 2006 touring right now. It is pretty straight forward, but there definitely is an information black out on the size tools you will need. I spent over a week researching the different size sockets, hex and torx tools needed to do this job and came up with very little. I even stopped in to two garages and flat out asked the size, for example, of the axle nut and got no help. So, after much running around, here is the list of sizes needed for the job (not counting lug nuts of course).
caliper mounting bolts - 3/4 in. or slightly smaller metric equivalent
caliper assembly bolts - 7mm (holds top and bottom together)
axle nut - 32mm
bearing hub bolts (3) - E 14 torx socket (I'm told...waiting on the socket delivery)
Was able to get a decent bite on the hub bolts with a 7/16 socket, but broke one socket and started to slip on another. Decided not to push it and ordered the torx set. Hope this helps anyone about to do this project themselves.... Peace - J

There's a lesson somewhere here. Get a good set of metric tools. These cars are all metric. "3/4 or slightly smaller" just doesn't cut it.

Smile P.S.

Just to clarify... in my original post, I listed a E14 torx socket for the wheel bearing bolts, when it turned out to be a E16 instead. Sorry for the misinfo...I was going by what I read from another forum. Glad I bought the set instead of just the one socket. I agree that you need the right tools for this job, however, I was just sharing that a 3/4 inch socket worked well for me.

Are you saying I don't have to remove the bottom ball joint to get to those torx bolts? i can just loosen the axle nut and push the axle back some? That ABS sensor is tight on those torx heads.

You DON'T have to take off anything, nor do you need an impact. Remove tire, hang caliper, remove brake rotor, loosen axle nut and tap axle back, it gives clearance to remove the Three TORX head bolts (E14) just turn the steering wheel right or left to allow for a small cheater pipe...this was a 20 minute freaking job once you know the tricks! Replacement hubs slide right on ($50 for both on ebay) No telling what the "shop" would have charged.
