1999 Sebring LXI Coupe bad idle issue
Ok Im trying to help out my sister with getting her engine to idle right. she has a 1999 Sebring LXI coupe. We replaced the fuel pump, injectors, distributor, cap, wires, plugs, computer, temp sensor, o2 sensor and cleaned the maf sensor. the engine is firing on all the plugs wires and getting good fuel pressure. if i remove the air filter the car idles a little bit better. but it just stalls out when put into gear. we have to give it a little extra gas to make sure it stays running. I have not good experience with chyrslers. Im a nissan and toyota guy. any help would be appreciated.

I saw that it was a mitsubishi motor I put a code reader up to the obd2 port and the port is not working and not sure how to resolve that issue. so i don't know what the codes are. I searched around little more about how to pull codes another way was to start with the ignition off. Within five seconds, switch the key on, off, on, off, on. Is that a correct way of getting codes from the car? thanks

That method worked on cars up through 1997, for sure, but may not work on your 1999. No harm in trying.
The problem is that the old codes were two-digit affairs, and could be communicated by blinking lights. OBDII codes are more complex. Check the wiring to the OBD port.
The car is basically a Mitsubishi Eclipse with some different clothes. When seeking parts for it, keep that in mind.
