Hi I have a 2001 Chrysler Sebring LX 4 door with the 2.7. i was thinking of doing some stuff to it like adding a custom turbo set up and possibly lowering it. but i want to know approximately how long the piston rods and valves will last before i have to rebuild it. the engine has 180,000 miles on it and has been really well taken car of, oil changed every 3,000 and i work at a Chrysler dealership and all the techs say the engine looks like its in pretty good condition considering the engine sludge problems that engine is known for. i just kinda want all your guys's opinion's

There's a reason for that. Although the Sebring was a good selling car in its day, it was never intended to be or considered to be a "performance" car. The people who buy them, as a rule, are not people who want to "soup them up", they just want cars that will get them there and get them home again. So there's not a big market for performance items. Additionally, because of the reputation the 2.7L engine has, deserved or not, few people are willing to risk several thousand dollars to dramatically increase the horsepower if the net result will only be a blown up engine.
well that sucks all i want it to have a sleeper and i wanted to "play" with my sebring cause almost no one does that. i was thinking about doing a 3.5 swap but idk i just want to have a unique sebring
