Default 2001 LXI high speed blower works only

What are the chances that this problem is the blower resistor? Has anyone replaced it before? Where is it located?

Default RE: 2001 LXI high speed blower works only

Does the resistor sit inside the blower motor itself or is it some other place?

Its behind the glove box. I had this same problem and replace the blower motor resister with one from a PT Cruiser and have had no problems since, that was four years ago.

I had the same problem on a 2001 T&C LXI. The blower motor would always run on high and we could not shut it off. I replaced the blower motor resister about 6 months ago. The same problem has re-occurred. Since it apprears that the blower motor resister has failed again. Does this mean that the blower is bad (along with the resister)? Please respond/advise.

Default Maybe a compatibility issue

My a/c would only work on high. Replaced the a/c heater control panel (X2). No good. Researched a little and changed the blower control reisistor. On my 2002 Sebring it's behind the glovebox, under the dash by the blower. Disconnect the electric and there are two (2) screws holding in the resistor. Now after changing the resistor it worked fine for awhile then started blowing air through the defrost, then straight out, then defrost again . I got my resistor from a junk yard and I think it be wise to make sure the resistor is compatible with your vehicle and the vehicle you get the resistor from. The new resistor looked completely different than the one replaced. I think there was a TSB on this resistor. I am sure there is a range there but check to be sure. Thanks.

I purchased control resistor from the dealer (about $35.00), was told that original resistors were manufactured in Hungary, newer ones from Mexico. New resistor is a little bigger than original and looks a little different, so I used a Dremel tool to enlarge opening. Works fine now.
