Default 2001 LXi Power Seat Issues

My drivers power seat will go back and forth but not up and down. Makes a grinding sound. Was wondering if anyone can tell me anything. I feel like its the gears. Does that mean I have to replace the whole motor, Where can I get one, How hard are they to replace? The video is what my car does BUT IT IS NOT ME OR MY CAR! Sounds the same, and wont go up or down also. Any help? Please and Thank You

The seat is not that hard to remove, something like 4 bolts through the floorpan. You are going to need to pull it out sooner or later if you want to fix it, might as well be sooner. There are separate motors for the four different motions. Figure out which motor is acting up and see if you can yank it out. Then comb the junkyards for a replacement.

So it IS the motor? What year Sebrings have the motor? 2001-20XX? It looked pretty rusted under there for some reason and I was wondering if it was just seized up somewhere.

I don't know for sure that it is the motor or gears, but you are going to need to pull it out regardless.
The dealer doesn't sell the individual motors, but they sell the whole track and adjustment mechanisms for over $350. You must look for a car of the same body style as yours (sedan, coupe or convertible). 2001-2006 should be safe.
