Default 2001 Sebring Engine knock

thank you for lookingi`m in desperate need of help my cars engine has a knock in it that sounds like a bat out of hell, i was driving along going 60 mph down the road and suddenly it jumps forward and starts maiking this horrid noise. at first i think my belt had brok because of a slapping noise i pull over in a parking lot making sure it wasn`t and turned it off. I start the car and the noise immeadatly stated again so i took it around the parking lot of wendys once the power of the motor is still there but i parked it popped open the hood and could hear the front middle cylinder slapping the head clear as a bell and just the vavles over the cylinder ticking as if it had no oil. so i called my mechanic and sure thing its out of oil but i was home checked on my driveway and no oil leak the sensor didn`t go off and just got a oil change less than 600 miles ago if anyone can help me i appreciate it and if right is a small payment i can give cause my mechanic said $4000 for a new engine and i can send a video of the engine.
