2002 Sebring LXi had been showing no problem. Started car after it had set for two weeks. Check engine light came on immediately. I then noticed transmission was not shifting up from first gear. Had computer scanned after finding 0700 code on dash readout. Was told I had a defective Transmission Control Module. Found a replacement online that was refurbished and was set up for my VIN and mileage. After installing the refurbished TCM the engine light was off, transmission shifts fine. Problem solved. A key to this repair was getting the scan to determine the component that had failed. I would have guessed the Transmission Control solenoid, and I would have been wrong and wasted some money.
