96 convertible sebring wont stay running
I bought a 96 sebring convertible and I am going to use it as a parts car when I bought the car the back window was out of the and it rained (before I could pick up the car)car the alarm light will not go out when the key is in the on position all I want to do is get the car running can I by-pass the alarm system to start the car ?? it will run but only for a few seconds then it quits try to start it again and it cranks and sounds like it will start but it wont HELP ME PLEASE all I want to do is hear the motor run and see if the trans shifts

give me the last 8 of the vin i want to see if it has an alarm or if the car thinks it has an alarm which is the same as the panic key on the key fob does the same stuff as an alarm would bt with out all the sensors in the doors and such.

it says motor theft system never heard of that b4 humm use the key in the driver and passanger side lock and unlock each side if that did not work try the trunk one as well if that does not work then u have an issue with the bcm or sensors in the doors or tunk not working correctly.

I just bought a 1996 sebing JXI convertible. After driving for a day I had the same problem. I tried the key in the doors but not the trunk. I disconnected the neg battery cable for about 2 min and then it started and stays running. Hope this helps
