Default Having idle issues and p1294 error code

Ok...so I can't pass emissions because I keep getting the p1294 (incorrect idle) error. The steps I've taken: replaced all spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor and cap, new egr valve and new IAC valve. Also, I've checked for vacuum leaks with carb cleaner but cant seem to find any. I feel like I've exhausted all options and can't seem to resolve this problem. My average idle is roughly 1800 rpm. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance!

need to know what kinda car this is first of all and high idel is a vac leak some where

Default same issue as first post

I'm having the same issue with a 1998 Chrysler Sebring 2.5L V6, i checked for vac leak with brake cleaner got no change replaced MAP sensor TPS sensor, rebuilt the distributor (coil was breaking down originally and had no power on take off) replaced the egr tube gaskets also have P0300, P0301, and P0303 accompanying the P1294 any help would be appreciated

Just wanted to let you know I fixed my high idle after I found a tiny crack in the throttle body. That crack caused my vacuum leak so you may want to check that for your p1294 code. I cant tell ya anything about the other codes tho....good luck!

Default P1294 Error Code

I'm working on my sisters 1998 Sebring Convertable. (V6 2.5L) I recently replace spark plugs, spark plug wires, PCV Valve, and battery. After completion, I hooked up a OBD II scanner. I wasn't getting any codes and none of the sensors were registering. She drove the car for several days and nothing would change. One day I decided to erase trouble codes even though I didn't have any. All of a sudden, all the senors were registering ok! (O2, misfire monitor etc) Then, the MIL light came on. I pulled a P1294 code (Target Idle Not Reached). Checked the throttle body plate and linkage, no binding. Hooked up the scanner and idle is around 880 rpm. I started the engine and removed the PCV valve and I have good vacuum. It doesn't seem like I have any vacuum leaks. (Visual inspection) Where do I go next? Help!

I chased a fluctuating idle problem with my Explorer for months. Carb cleaner everywhere...nothing. Used a tube in the ear to listen for hours, and then voilla! A tiny leak at the base of the EGR valve. When I took it apart I discovered there was no gasket. Gasket replaced. 99cents. Idles smooth and steady as a brand new vehicle. There are smoke machines that pump smoke into the system and will reveal what carb cleaner will not.
