Default Oil pressure warning

2004 Sebring, 2.7. After about 45 minutes, oil light comes on. Pressure is good. When engine turned off, no light until the next 45 minutes. What could this be?

only real way to know if pressure is good is to remove oil pressure switch install a gauge and rear it when lite would come on in 45 min.

Or just replace the switch and see if that cures the problem. They are known to be problematic and replacing it is probably easier, quicker, cheaper and just as effective as performing a study to find out exactly what's going on. If it doesn't work, then you might need to go more deeply into the issue.

Thank you for the repies. Pressure never seemed to be the issue. After light comes on, I let sit and checked oil - level good. Started car (no light now) and ran for a few minutes. Checked dip stick again and was obvious oil was circulating. Mechanic checked pressure and is good. He agrees, replace switch.
