First signs of a weak fuel pump. Might start with a pressure test.

How would you go about doing a pressure test and what equipment is needed?

Sign out a fuel pressure test gauge from an AutoZone or the like and connect it to the fuel rail test port if equipped. Start it up and you should see a steady 55 psi or close to it. You may have to rig it up so you can drive with it connected. Short of all that connect a scanner capable of reading real time data and drive around with it connected.

You bet it could. If the valve is stuck open it's a vacuum leak. Common cause of performance issues.

All you need do is put the odometer in trip mode and flip the key on ( not start ) 3 times and read the code. if you miss it off and back on ( 1 ) time and read the code again.
