After my daughter slammed open the right sliding door the door lock is in the locked position. It wiil not unlock elect. or manually .tried to override door latch with a screwdriver while i held the door handle open no help.

 

Sounds like you have to remove the interior door trim and have a look. The linkages could be jammed or the latch itself could be broken internally in which case it would need to be replaced.
