Hi am new here I have just brought a 2005 Grand Voyager CRD Ltd Edn 2.8L Turbo Diesel.
the issue I have is that when accelerating hard as when you over take a car the car cuts out no power at all not great! pull it over wait a few mins as it will not start straight away. Then all is fine will cruse ok will pull away ok but cuts out if you accelerate hard over 3000 revs that it cuts out as it changes up gears.

Well I'm not here to give you an answer as what I've read on this thread you should diagnose....Also check other posts on this issue and after reading them you will be very knowledgeable on this issue and this car. If your not sure about anything, any phrase, word, just ask.

Theres someone else changed the fuel filter and solved this, I had a problem was the exact same symptoms as yours and changing the fuel filter also cured it.

In my case, it might have been because the housing wasn't tightened on properly from the last filter change allowing air in.

I read somewhere about the possibility of 2 o-ring seals on the filter housing causing problems too (although no o-ring would probably do it as well).

Default Thanks QuintQ but I can't...

Thanks QuintQ but I can't... the system will not allow me to PM him for some reason that's why I opted for a random post - so thanks for responding. Any ideas of how to contact him and is he really the only person in the UK who is able to solve this issue?
I'm afraid I didn't really understand the solution described in the string so I though TFB would be the best solution.
Any further suggestions would be appreciated.
Many thanks,
Robert

Can you describe the symptoms a bit more? And perhaps list what you've tried so far?
Is it cutting out when you're accelerating? No engine management light on other than when the ignition lights come on when it has cut out? Do you have to come to a complete halt before the car will restart?

Symptoms are:
Engine cuts out - I have to pull over, usually restarts at about the 3rd attempt.
No specific lights come up on the dashboard - haven't really noticed anything just stalls so oil light etc.
Engine cuts out when:
Accelerating away from a LEFT HAND BEND, usually coming out of a roundabout (and worse if on upward incline e.g. on ramp on Motorway).
A few times when accelerating HARD in a straight line.
Worse on VERY COLD days.
The problem is intermittent, up to 4 times in a day but sometimes no problem for a week or more.
I've not tried to solve the issue - I've been living with it but it's getting worse (at least during this cold spell).
Does this shed any light?
Any suggestions?
Something I can give to a mechanic to try please.

No erratic running so rules that out. If it start ok first thing that tells us something. Any P codes per key dance. Looks like fuel pressure problem from the start. Need to check spill rate from injectors and pressure valve on rail. Could be just the rails pressure sensor. Can you do these things or get someone.
