Default 2011 Rough Starting Occasionally causing check engine light.

Hi all. New to this forum.

Just curious, does anyone else's 2011 T&C start like crap about half the time? It always starts, just sounds like rattling for a few seconds, as if there isn't oil in there. Bought the van with 30K miles, now 80K, but has done it the whole time we've owned it. The dealer said it was typical with this engine. It will kick the check engine and TC light on when it happens. Then the next time you start it the TC light is off, but the check engine light remains for a couple days, then goes off.

I run Full Synthetic oil and change the oil and filter every 3K-5K, depending on what type of driving conditions we have used it for.

Do you think there could be something wrong in the filter container assembly? Like a drainback valve or something?

Chrylser Tech--- I don't remember the code, but it is always for misfire detected. (which sometimes happens on startup with the rough start) You know how a motor will rattle pretty good the first start after changing oil? That's what it sounds like....

Sounds like a fueling issue...Will air in the fuel cause Misfire. After standing. Just someone kicking my brain telling me this.

Goggs, do you have any direction on troubleshooting something like that? I have never got any other codes than a misfire. The engine runs like a top otherwise.

????????????? I said I don't remember the codes, of course it had a code, don't be ridiculous. Just that it was for misfire.

I have done some more research elsewhere and seems like it may be due to a broken plastic piece on top of the spring in the oil filter canister. It is supposed to be some type of ADBV, but doesn't really do it's job well. Hence the reason they changed to different type of filters for 2013.

This rattling could be Ignition coil so forget the oil issue. I'm taking its petrol.
