2013 town and country hot rear interior molding by speaker
Hello,
I have a 2013 Chrysler Town and Country. On a recent road trip my passenger in the third row resr seat noticed the rear interior panel where the arm rest is, on the passanger side, in front of the rear speaker, was extremely hot to the touch and was putting off excess heat. She stated the drivers side area at the opposite side of the car had no such problem. Also she stated when I turned on the AC the area stayed warm but was considerably less hot and she could actually rest her arm on the rest without issue. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? I'm guessing its something electrical over heating but what is located in that area? Any chance it would fall under warranty?

The rear A/C heater (HVAC) unit is in that area. Have it looked at asap. If you can easily duplicate it they should be able find the problem. If they say it's normal make sure you get that in writing for any future litigation if your van goes up in flames.
