Default 96 Chrysler G. Voyager - vacuum in fuel tank?

With full fuel tank, the fuel meter indicates full tank. After approx 150miles driving , the fuel meter shows empty tank, but it more than half full of gas. When its 4-5 gallons left in the tank, theengine stops due to lack of fuel. By opening the fuel lock, you can feel a vacumm effect and then it is possible to start the engine again.
Isit a vacumm inside the tankt which prevents fuel into en engine? If so, what to be repaired?
