Default Battery Drain...

So I have a 2006 2.8 Diesel, the battery is fine, until....it rains! then if not used for a day or two, the battery struggles to start the car, once the weather dry's up, bingo, no starting problem! any suggestions?? am I going daft? Any thoughts on these solar panel chargers? could I use one to maintain a trickle charge through the battery socket inside the car? what wattage would I need? any help appreciated.
The dealer put in the following battery when I purchased the GV in May 2010.
Mopar...05093074AA...12V...50Ah.....800A.
Please note when I went on holiday for two weeks last Feb, the car stood in the cold at gatwick and started fine on my return...
Cheers
Desperate Dave!
