Brake and ABS Warning Lights

Brake and ABS Warning Lights
A couple of weeks ago my ABS light started to illuminate some times. It could be on for a day or two then off for a day or two. It's now on all the time but more recently the brake warning light has also illuminated. The discs and pads are less than 2k miles old so I checked the brake fluid and that's almost full.
So I disconnected the battery for a few minutes in the hope that this would clear the brake warning light, it didn't. But since reconnecting the battery my 6 track DVD player has got screwed up. All 6 LED's flash continuously when the ignition is on, but sequentially as two banks of three when the ignition is off and I can't eject any of the discs. I've disconnected and re-connected the battery several times but still have the same problems
I know to check the connectors on the ABS sensors and replace the sensor(s) if necessary but I'm stumped with the brake warning light and DVD player problems.
Does anybody have any suggestions that I can try to sort out the brake warning light and DVD player?

I learned about exact this kind of ABS/Brake sensor failures on a MB after using (too much) coppergrease when replacing rotors and pads. The coppergrease ruins the sensors due to its electrical conducting capacities.
Replacing sensors and using ceramic paste in stead on all parts of the brake systems solved the problem..
Dunno if coppergrease is the cause in your case since I can't place the DVD failure into this.

I drove to the shops this afternoon, just 3 miles each way. The light was on all the way there but on the way home I noticed the light was off, only the ABS was illuminated.

As to the ABS light its one of the front sensors but at £25 each I did the two of them. See my thread on the job months back. This brake light thing cam up with me after changing the rear discs/pads/shoes a year ago. Thought the handbrake was still on but checked it was off. However light disappeared after a couple of days.

Where did you get your sensors from for £25.00 each?

Thanks Goggsy, that's an excellent price. I'll check that out.
