Default Brake hissing, possible brake booster

Our Chrysler Grand Voyager 3.3 Auto is making a hissing noisewhen taking our foot off the brake. It definetly sounds from the left hand side of the car, but I know the sound can travel. It started a week ago and has got significantly worse, it sounds a bit quiter but is going on for ages after letting go of the pedal. It seems to stop OK, but we haven't had to emergancy stop since it's been happening. It has lost some fluid aswell, and the last time it was filled, it was filled ot the top, and it's lost about a quarter.

Questions:

1. Do you think it is the brake booster?
2. Is it safe to drive?
3. Where is the booster located, and is it an easy fix?

Thanks!

Default RE: Brake hissing, possible brake booster

1. most likely it is the brake booster.
2. anything envolving the brakes i would fix before i drove it too far.
3. its not that hard to replace just take your time. Its in a real fun spot to get to on the caravans ect. its going to be located on the left hand side of the engine bay against the firewall. its attached to where the brake master cylinder is located at.
