Bucking when slowing down -
Im asking about a 2001 t & c van, about 130,000 miles. All of a sudden today, I noticed while slowing down, the van bucked while downshifting when I hit about 15- 20mph. No bucking or issues while driving normally. It's been a while since I've had the tranny serviced. Hoping that this is something fixable and not time for a new tranny. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated !! Thanks in advance

Pretty cut and dried. Change the fluid (ATF+4 only) and filter and look for debris in the pan. If all looks good but it's still bucking have the tranny scanned and CVI numbers checked. If they are out of spec, change the tranny. If the the CVIs are good but you have a code, chase the code. No code? Wait till it gets worse and check for codes.
CVI = Clutch Volume Index
What is it? The volume of transmission fluid needed to apply each clutch pack is constantly measured and monitored. The TCM uses this data for adaptive controls. As the friction material wears, the volume of fluid needed to apply the clutch will increase. Once the clutch is worn out, the CVI should be out of spec. From trnw.com
