Default Chrysler Grand Voyager 2.8crd 2005 Model

Hi guys, I hope this post finds you all well. Please can you tell me which engine oil I need for the above vehicle. Also should I spend the money on getting something like Magnatec or similar brand or would Halfords oil be ok. Advice greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

I use 10w-40, but I believe you can also use 5W-40. I'm not convinced that the premium brands or fully synthetic oils are worth the extra. Engine failures due to wear do seem to be rare these days, lack of any form of maintenance will cause more problems and there are plenty of other things that can fail and make repair uneconomical.

I wouldn't use Halfords on principle, but any motor factors will have the oil you need.

Regards

Richard

I agree, and there'll be a reason for that, it is the same stuff as the expensive stuff. The fancy numbers if you want to look them up are: SaE 5W30: API SM/CF ACEA C3, Low SAPS/Low ash. Alternatively he could always buy the same stuff in a different can at twice the price.
