Default Cooling water Blowing on to Windshield in cabin

Hi,

I have a 2004 Chrysler Grand Voyager 2.8 CRD in the UK.

We had the heater blower on and were driving up the motorway, suddenly water started blowing up out of the dash under the windscreen on to the the lower middle of the windscreen.

We stopped and got the AA to take us home on a transporter. Vehicle was booked in to our usual diagnostic place (generally been vey good there) and he diagnosed and replaced a leaking hose.

The next weekend we had a 60 mile journey, the heating had stopped working and the car was running hot (3/4) on the dash. I stopped to check the coolant water level and found it was empty in the top up tank. It took about 3L to fill it up and off we set. Amazing the heating started working again !! Great

Next within a few miles, water started blowing out of the dash middle windscreen vent on to the middle of the windscreen.

It must be the coolant water and that must be way we had lost coolant flyer the last repair.

Any ideas what has actually failed ?

Many thanks
Regards

Without stripping down the dash and aircon unit it's not possible to say for certain, but about the only place that air can meet water is the heater matrix or the pipes to it.

I'd suggest taking it back to the garage and ask them to confirm that they refitted everything correctly and haven't forgotten to tighten a clip on the hose they replaced for example.

Regards

Richard
