Default DVD player

Hey guys, I have a 2005 Chrysler town and country, 3.8 v6 it has leather seats and all. My problem is the DVD player, it has a factory 6 disc but no screens. There is the red, white and yellow AV jacks, and when a DVD is in we can play it and hear everything, but when I hook the AV cables up no screens will work. What am I doing wrong?

Do you mean it literally has no screens or that it has screen(s) but they don't work. If the latter then the screen(s) need to be switched on with the remote control. Also the rear passengers should listen to the audio from the DVD's using the wireless headphones.

There are no screens in the vehicle at all. When I plug in a tv screen the tv turns on but it doesn't show the movie.

As far as I know, the phono sockets are input sockets so if you're plugging a TV into them it'll never work. The DVD screens drop down from the roof, if you haven't got one then I think it must have been removed but I could be completely wrong.

So am I essentially screwed with my DVD system?

My current Chrysler Voyager, a 2007, has a 6 changer CD/DVD player mounted up front in the dash. It has Red & White stereo audio sockets and a yellow video socket on the face of the head unit. My DVD screen is mounted in the roof and is controlled by a remote control with wireless headphones so the back seat passengers can watch DVD's without disturbing the driver.
I 'think' that models around 2004 had the 3 sockets mounted adjacent to the sliding door near to where the 12 volt power outlet is.

As far as I know, all these sockets are input only and are meant for connecting games consoles etc.

If you have a CD/DVD player with phono sockets then either it's not the original unit or the screen has been removed. If the screen has been removed then I would expect to see evidence of where it had previously been mounted in the headlining.
