Default Electric side doors...

I'm hopeful that someone can solve a mystery for us...

At what point should we be able to open the side doors with the button in the overhead central computer cluster?

When I pick my daughter up from school I cant seem to just pull up and use that button while the engine is running... is that correct?

Has the engine got to be turned off to be able to electrically open the doors?

Apologies for sounding stupid.....

If it's an auto box I think the selector has to be in Park.

My 2009 with automatic transaxle works when in park or neutral.

Cheers fellas

Another thing we've noticed is that the rear parking sensors don't have an audible noise... Is that correct?

The lights above the rear seats work when reversing but no noise...

They don't beep while the led's are just amber but beep when the led's turn to red plus the volume also goes off on the radio at the same time.

Cheers Alan,

So does the radio have to be switched on to hear the beeps?

That's a good question. I always have my radio on so I can't say either way.

Just a thought. If you use the handbrake while reversing it turns the rear parking sensors OFF!! Well mine does.

Regards John.
