Front end groaning noise

Front end groaning noise
My 2005 makes a groaning noise in the front end when accelerating quickly from a stop. Does not matter if it's going straight or turning. Does not do it if I accelerate slowly. Also doesn't make a noise if I punch it hard from a roll. Only from a stop.
Has anyone had this issue and found a cause and solution? Thanks.

It all points to Leedsman's answer on brake pads coming off slowly. So check your discs are not overheating, just in case there sticking on slightly all the time. The amount of times I think I've got a wheel bearing away, then noise goes away when I hit different tarmac.

No, has nothing to do with brakes. I just replaced the pads and rotors, the groan was there before and is still there exactly the same. The calipers were fine. Also, the noise doesn't happen at all if I accelerate gently, and I don't see why the pads would release any differently in that situation.
It's not the kind of noise that a wheel bearing would make, but I replaced the front wheel bearings a year ago anyway, so that's out. The old wheel bearings were indeed bad, but they made no noise, just a vibration when turning at very high speeds.
