Grand Voyager value
Hi,
Im considering selling my Grabd Voyager, I brought it new in 2001 as it was the size of car I needed for my family. Within a few years though my kids had all left home and I was left with a car that was too big for me.
Iv kept on using it as to sell it I would of lost so much money. Ive now realised that Im still loosing money because running such a big car for short town trips with 1 or 2 people in is silly.
So I wondered if any one knew any places to sell it, maybe Voyage enthusiasts or just any one who wants a good car with superb mileage.
It is a '51' plate, dark/navy blue, some tiny marks/scratches from over the years from other peopes door etc.
The key point is the mileage, despite it being an older vehicle now its done around 30,000 miles.
Anyone got a rough idea of the value also?
thanks

Depends on whether diesel or petrol. The petrols are thirsty and consequenty hard to sell. These aren't really enthusiast's cars like say old Jags/Bentleys etc., so again they aren't going to fetch a lot even if v. low mileage and immaculate. Yours is 2001 model therefore 13 years old.
The attraction of GVs is their carrying capacity, people or furniture, combined with being a long distance comfortable cruiser. We are coming up to the "good" period for selling cars generally, i.e. up to easter, so I'd wait a bit until the weather generally improves, then advertize it on "Autotrader" as a gen. low mileage, one owner private sale. Just look at other motors of similar age to decide on price. DO NOT OVERPRICE IT, you will simply kill any sale that way. To sell it, make the price attractive, and remember as with selling anything -- "eye appeal is buy appeal".
Leedsman.

I admit that we like to do a lot of driving on the Continent and we like to take some of our home comforts with us, plus you can't fit a 3 seater sofa or a double wardrobe in the back of a BMW.
If yours is a diesel then think very carefully about replacing it, especially with only 30k on the clock.

Sounds like fuel costs are a major factor. Consider these VERY rough numbers.
At 2000 miles per year, 15 miles per liter and $8 per liter, your spending $1000 a year on fuel be it diesel or gas. Buy a car that gets double the mileage at 30 mpl and your fuel costs are halved to $500. Compare the $500 dollar savings per year to the monthly loan payment or decreased bank account balance.
