Default intermittant no start

I have a 1999 Chrysler T & C van.Sometimes it starts then dies after about 1 second. When this happens the lower row of dash lights don't work including the trip/odometer.The tach doesn't work and the numbers on the info panel on the roof don't come on.Any ideas what is wrong? Doug

The top row of lights above the gauges all work and the lights either side of odometer don't.To restart I have to turn the key off then it will start and stall again as long as the lower lights don't come on.Usually have to wait anywhere from 5 minutes to overnight before it works right. It has the factory installed security system.Using the key on / off three times to retrieve codes gave no codes.I haven't had it checked by a DRB II but the check engine light isn't on,but does work when the ignition is turned on.

when u are talking about the light son either side of the dash are u talking about the lights that make the cluster visable at night ot all the warning lights? I u say that the night time lights dont work and the other stuff as well I would say its the cluster it self the printed cky board. There are posts on here some where about how to fix the board or atleast give it a shot.
if not need a new ckt board.

It's the warning lights that don't work.I think all the illumination lights work. I saw the post about soldering the connections.Maybe I'll give that a try.MANY THANKS for your help.

I have just removed the instrument cluster (tach/speedo/odometer) from the van.The information center still works and it will start up and run.Is the problem in the body control module ? If so where is it located?Since my last post it has acted up only once and I pounded on the top of the dash and it started working fine.Any help is appreciated. Doug
