Default Odor problem when AC or vent is ON

Hi,
I'm new to this forum and I have odor problem when the AC orfan is on. Does the 2000 Chrysler Voyager SE v6 have a cabin/pollen filter? or what could be the problem? Smells like urine. The AC seems to work fine except one thing, the AC compressor kicks in when I put the vent to blow on the windshield, even though the AC button is not depressed
Thanks

an NS does not have a cabin air filter when u have it on defrost it will turn on the compressor inorder to take out any humidity inside the cabin which causes u to have fog ont he windsheld.
The odor U can get some stuff like lysol that will go into the coil area and kill the bacteria that is growing inside the coil.

where is the "coil area" located?
When I have it on defrost should the AC turn on even when I have it on HOT air. It is on when I have it to blow on windshield/legs position also

get the chemical and it will tell u if u need it on hot or cold. Most will tell u to spart it in the cowl so that it is sucked into the coil area which is inside your dash. GO to advanded auto or auto zone they should have something. Chryslers stuff is better but with out taking some stuff out u wont be able to get to the coil.

undersdood with the chemicals/coil. However, what I meant to say is when I have the fan blowing on the windshield or windshield/ legs position and even when I turn the heater ON the AC compressor is still ON too. Is this normal to have AC and the heater ON at the same time?

U said nothing about the ac being on when u have it in DEFROST and yes the compressor will turn on when it is in defrost mode it removes humidity from the cabin.

I have a 2003 voyager and have the same problem with the oder. When I turn on the AC I get a blast of rotten smell,it does go away after a while. I think I'll try spraying some Lysol and see if that helps.. Thanks

it wont u have stuff growing inside the coil. CHrysler has some stuff that u spray inside the HVAC housing and then a coil coating to help it not come back. It is sparyed in through the Blower motor resistor. U can help make suire it does not come back once treated by doing this simple step.
The last mile or so b4 u get home turn rec off let outside air come in and blow out any water that may be inside there. The last 1/2 mile cut compressor off and let fan blow to evap any water that is still in the coil and not sit there and grow. =)
