Smile P0401

I am getting a P0401 code on my 1998 T&C. I know the description indicates the EGR value, but does this code indicate a problem with the transmission? The code returns about 100 miles after being reset. The transmission seems to jump/slip when the code appears. I have changed the EGR as well as the mass air and several hoses. It was recommended that I clean the intake manifold. I'm ready to to clean the throttle body and check for vacuum leaks but I just wondered if anyone has had any transmission problems. I also saw someone had the EGR value reversed. I will check for that. The engine runs very good and am getting 21 MPG on the highway. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Kevin. I thought that to be true. Would reversing the EGR mounting result in this 401?

I recently fixed the P0401 with a new EGR assembly, pretty easy to replace, but I hasd to soak a few bolts with liquid wrench.
