Hi Alan, we lived in the South of France for six years, we have moved home, so the longest trip on the cards now will be nothing like she has been doing, I was quietly impressed that she kept going that long to be honest, when I get the box back I will add a few pics of what I found, 5 stops through France, sounds like a nice leasurly drive, enjoy, our last trips whem moving and towing were 16 hour marathons, and feeling like zombies LOL

Hi John, I've lost count of the number of times we've done France, usually the South and occasionally on into Spain. I enjoy the driving over there, much easier than our roads with all the congestion. Good Luck with the gearbox, it'll be very interesting to see what your specialist finds when he opens up the box although after hearing about the state of the clutch I wonder if that hasn't been the problem all along.

Mt thoughts exactly, but no harm whilst its out to get it looked at, embarrassing to refit and have the dreaded noise back, Ouch!!!!

Few Pics of work in progress, Checked the rear engine mount as its accessible and it seems a little floppy? BUT no signs of splits in the rubber??

You'll be sending us pictures of your journey of course Alan. Dash Cam footage might be a bit long but I'm sure you'll have it on.

Well the Voyager is all buttoned up and back on the Road, the Two bearings on the Far Left of the Gearbox if viewing from inside the car had Died, One was notchy but the other was Crunchy and rather Crispy, also almost impossible to turn by hand, so these were replaced by Pete at Solent Gearbox's I would like to recommend him as he does excellent work and only does what is required to get the Box back running, he is NOT a rip off merchant.

Great news John. Good that you're back on the road and ready to start clocking up the miles.

Ok back on the road and........................................severe vibration when going backwards and dropping down through the box, No visible problem with rear engine/gearbox mounting when box out, has been suggested that the gearbox oil ATF+4 used could be incorrect?? any info on this and what else could be used? I plan to fill the voids in the engine mount with windscreen bond as it sets to a reasonably hard rubber see if this helps, clutching at straws here LOL
