Default What is this......

Excuse my ignorance, I'm not too familiar with these engines yet but the part below is leaking and I'm not sure what it is exactly.



Is this a common fail item, any issues in the repair/replace?

Thanks for the info. When it fails can you get coolant leaking as that is what seems to happen?

No... EGR valve is an emission control device. It ports some exhaust gases into the engine to reburn them. That Y-pipe in the foreground is your culprit I bet.

Thanks for the clue as it is a coolant leak that is dripping onto the exhaust underneath the EGR!!

I'll check it out, it looks like a coolant hose
