2000 chrysler cirrus

A couple of days ago while I was driving,thedash gauges became erratic,the odometer lights and indash lights started flickering even spedometer needle was erratic.pulled car to side of the road ,turned ignition off,engine shut down.Turned key back on,engine started ok.The next time it started doing the same thing,I shut the engine off everything went dead lost all power for a few minutes then started ok again.

I had a similar problem in 2006 with my 2000 cirrus. The speedometer and gas needles were erratic, jumped randomly and the problem would go away afterI switched off the engine for a while. I took it to a chrysler dealership service shop, turned out some sensors were bad - I think it was the speedometer sensor which was replaced..
