Default Aftermarket stereo install - wiring help needed

Hi. I have a 200 Cirrus. I bought it last month with the factory am/fm/cassette and CD changer controls, but no changer. The factory head unit has a joystick control for the fader/balance.

I bought a stereo at a local place andthe correct year/modelScosche wire harness adapter from Walmart. Wired it correctly except did not hook up the amp pwer wire because I did not think the car had a factory amp. The aftermarket head unit has several pre-outs.

The stereodoes not playvery loudlywith minimal bass even at high volume/bass settings, and the front door speakers so not seem to play at all - only the dash speakers and rear deck speakers seem to work.

Its worth noting I bought a factory CD deck from ebay and it plugged in fine and works BUT only the rear speakers work. The seller is going to give me a refund but claims he tested it and it worked fine.

What gives? What am I doing wrong...I just want to play CDs in the car...Thanks...

Ok...thanks very much...that helps immensely.

Onefollow-upquestion...the wire harness adapter I bought takes speaker level output from the aftermarket stereo to the amp...but an adapter I saw this morining while researching the problem online takes the pre-outs from the aftermarket unit to the amp. Is it ok to take speaker-level outputs and put them thru the factory amp?

I had an Exploder with a factory amp and had to bypass it to run an aftermarket stereo as I recall...so I just want to make sure I haven't or won't fry something.
