My wife's 01 town& country died while she was driving. I changed the altenator thinking that was the problem. However, it still won't start. The battery is strong and the engine won't even try to turn over. The ignition doesn't attempt to turn over, but it died while driving? Before I spend any more money, are there any suggestions?

first of all the alt has nothing at all with starting up the van is there a red dot on the dash and does the key less entry work? do u have a gray key?
