Default in a bind, need help ASAP

Hello all, new here. Really in a bind. If I didn't have bad luck I would have none at all. Ready to die of old age and I am not that old.

I have a 2000 Cirrus. We have some flooding going on here in town due to big time snow melt. Well stupid me drives through a bunch of standing water in the road instead of driving a couple blocks around it. Car dies in the middle of it. I manage to start it and it kept stalling out. I managed to restart it about 6 or 8 times and get it 12 or so blocks home. Later yesterday afternoon I went out and it started, but with some difficulty. I ran it for 10 minutes hoping to dry it out or whatever. Shut it off and went to bed that night.

Today it was 50 degrees most of the day but then cooled off. Went out and it was 36 degrees and tried to start the car for the first time today. It wouldn't start. Tried starting fluid and it doesn't seem to kick at all.
I used the old screwdrive trick and a plug wire and it had spark.

Car turns over really good, almost too fast. Could it be the timing belt? If so why would it break during these circumstances?

What else could it be? Help people please. I could not get my son back to my ex because of this. This was my weekend visitation for this month. Probably really screw me over. She is a witch.

HELP please!!!
