Default car DVD not working

Guys,

I have a 2004/2005 Chrysler Voyager with a working CD player. I bought a DVD player from Halfords and paid for the fitting. They put the new DVD in and there is no sound. After a couple of months waiting for them to provide a solution, I want to see if anyone can point me to a solution. The problem might be something to do with the speakers amplifier. Do i just need to buy a device to fit between the speakers and the car unit? Not quite sure what to do.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Mathias
