Default chrysler concorde wont start

my 1996 chrysler concorde got soaked the other day during a monsoon rain. the next day i drove it to get a carpet cleaner to suck the water out and when i went to leave it wouldnt start. i got it to barely run by pushin the pedle to the floor but it bogged under 1,000 rpms and wouldnt rev up. now it wont start at all? could the wires to the fuel pump have gotten wet and be shorting out? or is it jus a coincidence that the fuel pump went out when it did? any ideas????? thanx
