i have a switch to replace this weekendi got the whole assembly key and all since the key is stuck in the old switch. any help or tips on this would be appreciated. it looks like just a swap out but i am not sure ?

 

u mean the key cylinder? the part that the key goes into and turns??? The switch is the electeral part thats on the back half of they key cyl and has nothing to do with a stuck key. Plus one other thing did u just figure out that the key is stuck or have u had some one look at it?? Second will the key not come out of the cly of what??? if that is the case then i doubt its the cly because there is other things that lock the key so it wont come out when turned. If the key wont turn at all to start the car then yes 9 out of 10 the cly is bad.

 

all i know is she had trouble getting the key in so she forced it, now she says key is stuck she has been dealing with this for 2 month's . the car still starts no problem i want to replace the whole assembly with the one i have, it doesn't look like a big deal i was just looking for alittle input.

 

ahhh u have a sebring 2 door coupe yeah u can just swap over stuff but if u are gonna mess with the key tumblers make sure u put them back in the same place u took them out or u will haft to have a lock smith rekey it for ya.

i am going to tackle this over the weekend. is their anything to be aware of or just remove the old assembly and replace ? what kind of time for a job like this ? i appreciate your input
