Unhappy 2002 Pt Cruiser Touring EVAP core

Evap core is leaking into the cabin of the car. Is it true I have to remove the complete dash to replace the evap core? Or is there a simpler way to do this?

If it's leaking water, the problem is the drain, which is an easy fix. If it's leaking refrigerant, then, as Tech says, it ain't easy.
