Default 2005 Crossfire SRT6 AT PO730, PO715

We have 109k miles on our SRT6 with automatic transmission. DTC codes PO730, PO715. It has been slipping/not moving at all sometimes...makes no noise like your typical low fluid automatic transmission. We've been at an intersection waiting for traffice but when we wanted to proceed, no go. Had to turn the car off, restart the engine then it worked. Also we've been driving down the road and suddenly we're coasting...like the transmission fell out of the car. Any ideas folks?

Thanks.

GGW

You need to be checking for a leak. The seals on the electrical connector are prone to leak on a NAG1. These are also used in some 300s and Grand Cherokee. It's a Mercedes transmission.

Hello Tntech & THANK YOU FOR YOUR ADVICE! You were right on. Thank you for participating in this forum. When I collected the tranny fluid before totally dropping the pan, there were less than 3 qt.s of fluid. No cudos for Mercedes for delivering a transmission without a dipstick. While the electrical connector in hand was somewhat intimidating, the replacement went well and my wife has no more drips. I can only believe that means we have no more leaks. Wishing you well! Folks, Tntech knows his stuff!

You will no doubt have to replace it again sometime in the future. It's just the design. However the newer seals should last a bit longer.

For the next time you have to do one for anyone else reading this.... About every 4th or 5th one I do, there seems to be an issue with the predrilled holes for the electrical terminals in the new connector. You can use the old connector and just put the new seals on it, OR you can take a seal pick and ream the new holes out.

You're welcome.

Here's the dipstick...yeah I know it's ridiculous. Use the part number and shop around.
