You will no doubt have to replace it again sometime in the future. It's just the design. However the newer seals should last a bit longer.
For the next time you have to do one for anyone else reading this.... About every 4th or 5th one I do, there seems to be an issue with the predrilled holes for the electrical terminals in the new connector. You can use the old connector and just put the new seals on it, OR you can take a seal pick and ream the new holes out.
