Default 2007 skim operation confirmation

I have heard that some skim modules may entirely lock out the ignition rather than just kill the engine after 2 sec. Is this possible on an 07 Aspen? Is it possible for the skim to lock out the PCM on bus so the ALDL connector power will be cut and codes can't be pulled?

Thanks.

Thank you. Perhaps I have the acronym/terminology wrong, I'm talking about the data-link connector that enables scanning of the vehicles PCM and bus, etc. I have no power to mine in that I can't establish a connection. This is with 3 different scanners one of which is a decent bidirectional.

Thank you.

Yes. CAN/CAN2. I've scanned this truck before without an issue. To be sure it wasn't the scanner, I scanned an 08 Altima, 2011 VW and a 95 Jimmy. All scanned without issue. I dropped (flat bedded) the truck off at the tech so we'll see where we go from here. I hope it isn't a dealer only fix...

Thank for your help!

The keyfob is fully operational and dash seems ok with exception of not being able to see the digital-style gear selections (it took a little thinking when loading the flatbed to get N - . ).
