Compatible 2000 Jeep GC 4.7l Engines?

I purchased a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 4.7l V8. It has a rod knocking and I need a replacement motor. I have read that the 1999 Jeep is the same. I have also been told that there are some Durango and Dakota's that use the same motor, but I don't know the years, VIN's or engine codes. Where can I found out which motors are drop-in compatible? Thanks!
