Default How does the radio hook-up work?

I'm about to buy an aftermarket head unit for my 2002 dodge neon. The car has 6 speakers, yet the head unit is advertised as 52watts to 4 channels. How do I select exactly which four get used and which two I run off a pre-amp out? Thanks for your help.

all head units factory and after market are 4 channel the amps break it up to different speakers get a wire harness for the car u have at best buy and it will plug into the extincting factory harness with no wire cutting necessary.

Ok, but then what do I do when I buy an external amp for the 6x9s, will the other four still have to run off only 30 watts each or so?
