Pacifica A/C won't turn off
Hi,
I have a 2006 Pacifica and its A/C's been giving me troubles lately.
It is ALWAYS ON! Even if I hit the on/off button, it won't turn off.
Anyone knows how to fix this problem? and/or if this can be covered by warranty?
(My mileage is about 36,000)
Thanks in advance!

Not sure what you mean by the A/C is always on. Do you mean that air always blows out the registers in the dash? Or do you mean that the compressor won't shut off? Or do you mean that you can't get warm air?
These are different things and could be caused by different problems. The climate control is largely controlled by the body computer, and if problems develop, the computer may generate and store error codes that can be read by a Chrysler dealer using his DRBIII scan tool.
As to what might be wrong, it could be a stuck mode door or blend door, or possibly a bad body computer. Some of these could be expensive to fix. At 36,000 miles it's probably off warranty, but read your warranty to be sure. If there's a doubt, you might be able to complain a bit and get it covered.

Is it possible that you have changed over to running your defroster/defogger because of a weather change? That will run the compressor in many vehicles whether the on/off switch is in either position. The compressor dries the air before blowing it on your windshield and side windows.
