Default Passenger Side Belt Alert System

Have a 2010 Town & Country Van. The passenger side Belt Alert System gives NO warning if the seat belt is NOT buckled. Does that mean that it does not detect an adult sitting in the front passenger seat? If that is so, does that indicate that the air bags will not deploy even if the seat belt is buckled?

You can't ride around with things in the passenger seat. Do it repeatedly and leaving things overnight will eventually throw it off calibration. You need to go to the dealer and have them recalibrate your seat. It will cost about 1/2 hour labor.

Default Passenger Side Belt Alert System

Dear TNtech, this has been happening since the car was bought NEW! It has been taken back to the dealership and they say that our "2010 Town & County Limited" does not give a warning on the passenger front seat. We even wrote to your Customer Relation in Detroit Michigan. They say that our 2010 Limited Edition, with every other safety feature you can buy including "blind spot monitoring system", for some reason does not have a "Belt Alert System".

My concern is if the seat belt is not fastened, since it does not warn you, will the air bags deploy? And my major concern is--even if the seat belts are fastened will it recognize an adult is in the front seat.

Ok, you're talking about the seatbelt warning if it's unbuckled? I thought you were talking about the passenger airbag light on the dash. Like the picture I attached.

No, it doesn't matter then. Some cars have it and some don't. It's called a Beltminder feature.
