Default 94 shadow over heats

replaced thermastat three times car still overheats. does the thermastat get replaced in opposite way of other cars? when i pull out thermastat there is no water on block side of car. i have two ofd these cars same problem on both.

Are yours the 2.2 or 2.5? The thermostat should face forward like normal (point forward, spring at back). Try drilling an 1/8" hole in the thermostat to get rid of an air pocket or air lock.
The other bad news is, maybe your head is cracked or head gasket. That never happened to me, but I've seen it happen to others. Do a pressure check on your rad. How's your oil condition?
