Cool 04 chrysler crossfire continued

Just had my rear view mirror replaced by the guy that replaced my windshield after they broke it. Can anyone tell me why there are wires on the rearview mirror, and if there is anything special about it. Looks like there is some kind of sensor on the back. Day time running lights ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
